In 300 days, on 19 May 2025, the 31st CIMAC World Congress will open its doors. For one week, Zurich will be the world capital of the industry dealing with large engines, power, drives and propulsion. Peter Müller-Baum, CIMAC Secretary General, says: “More than 700 experts from all over the world attended the congress in Busan. For Zurich, we are doing our best to match or even exceed this figure. Switzerland's importance for the large engine industry and its geographical location in the middle of Europe are the trump cards.”

Over 500 abstracts have been submitted on the seven topics digitalization, towards net zero, engine optimisation & retrofits, basic research & advanced engineering, and operators’ perspective. There will be poster sessions, podium discussions and Pecha Kucha sessions as well as the traditional full presentation. Müller-Baum expects that about 200 presentations will be given in Zurich. “In my opinion, the informal discussions during the congress are almost as important as the experts' contributions to the official program. You can be nerdy here and get to the bottom of things. And you will meet all the experts in one place. Attending the congress is simply a must”, Müller-Baum concludes.
