Mid April, the CIMAC Working Groups 7 (Fuels) with their chair Dr. Bartosz Rozmyslowicz (WinGD) and secretary, John Stirling (World Fuel Services) met at Maersk’s offices in Copenhagen.
The group discussed and finalized multiple new guidelines to be released to support the impending release of the next version of the fuel standard used in almost all marine fuel purchases, ISO 8217. Furthermore, Monique Vermeire (Chevron), ISO’s Chair of the fuel specification work group, took a journey through the coming ISO 8217 and the lesser known, ISO 8216. Additionally, Nippon Yuka Kogyo presented a study on contamination in Very Low Sulphur Fuel Oil (VLSFO), while the Convenors of the WG7 sub groups (SGs) updated the WG on all the ongoing SG work. Thanks to all participants and to Maersk for hosting the event!
