CIMAC at MEPC 83

The CIMAC delegation actively participated in the 83rd session of the Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC 83), held at the International Maritime Organization (IMO) headquarters in London from April 7 to 11, 2025.

A significant milestone was reached with the approval of new net-zero regulations for global shipping, marking a major advancement in the industry's decarbonization efforts. Another critical topic on the agenda was Underwater Radiated Noise (URN), an increasingly important issue for marine environmental protection and particularly relevant to CIMAC. Committed to ongoing engagement and leveraging their expertise in IMO discussions, CIMAC has established a new Working Group on URN. This initiative aims to enhance their contribution and involvement in addressing this vital environmental concern within the IMO framework.
