CIMAC and its Chinese National Member Association (CSICE, Chinese Society for Internal Combustion Engine) successfully held the 13TH CIMAC CASCADES in August 14-15, 2024 in Qingdao, China. It was co-organized by Harbin Engineering University and the Youth Work Committee of CSICE.
The CASCADES was attended by over 120 participants, most of them young engineers and students from China, Japan, South Korea and other countries. Themed “Green, Reliable, Intelligent, Efficient”, the CASCADES event provided young engineers and students with an opportunity to meet some of the leading industry experts to discuss and exchange ideas and information regarding research and development in relevant fields.
The opening of the forum was chaired by Prof. FENG Huihua (Standing Council Member of CSICE, Dean of Xu Teli School, School of Future Technologies, School for Excellent Engineers, University of technology). JIN Donghang (Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Past President of CIMAC, President of CSICE, President of Tianjin University) attended the forum and gave a welcome speech. Yasuyuki Takahata (Vice President of CIMAC, President of JICEF), Masayoshi Kawakami (Council member of CIMAC, Managing Director of JICEF) and CHA Ji Hyoub (Council member of CIMAC, Secretary General of KOFCE) attended the forum.
Prof. HUANG Zuohua from Xi’an University gave an attracting keynote presentation on “Combustion Directional Regulation for Internal Combustion Engines: Theory and Method”. 9 young scholars and engineers from China, Japan, South Korea and other countries made brilliant presentations on the frontiers and hot issues of internal combustion technologies. The CIMAC CASCADES AWARD was won by KIM Wookyung from Hiroshima University, Japan, for the presentation titled “Flame Propagation Characteristics in Hydrogen-Air Mixtures”. Mr. Yasayuki Takahata and Mr. LI Shusheng presented the award certificate. Mr. Kim will get a free entrance ticket to CIMAC Congress 2025.
On August 14th, the attendees of 13TH CIMAC CASCADES went to a technical tour to Qingdao Copton Petrochemical.
